Ever since I accidentally stumbled in to a show and found Jeffrey Lewis performing, I have found him one of the most inspiring, delightful, & Must Listen artists of any sort. Music, comics, and history. I have posted him many times before.
Today, give your self a history listen, of the music form that made me want to get camera.
On my perfect planet, Jeffrey Lewis would be mandatory listening, reading, watching in all high schools. He would be our biggest media star. I consider the night I first head him (at Joe’s Pub with Vanessa) one of my favorite music experiences.
Will Oldham is one of those who gives both prolific and multi-disciplinarian a good name. This video, in anticipation of a new CD this month, almost makes me want to be in Los Angeles (no small feat!):
