What are you doing on August 19th? Are you going to be in LA? Why not help out a worthy cause? Filmmakers Alliance is honoring me and I would love to see you there.

Let’s Remake Star Wars!
Hey, let’s say you have nothing to do. Now we know that’s not true, because you are reading this, and there’s hundreds of things to do right here in Our Bowl. But let’s just pretend you had nothing to do.
The other interview Christine Vachon and I did for FilmCatcher (before they changed direction) at Sundance this year is now up on YouTube. The sounds not great, but the content’s still revealing. It stars two of the greatest actors of our day (and that ain’t CV or me), so check it out.
See The World

R.I.P. Mink
Before I ever came to NYC I spent quite a bit of time dreaming of doing so. I wanted it to be a world where everyone was as cool as Mink DeVille. He definitely gets some of the credit for moving me off the basic R&R focus and onto the wild and diverse turf that is American music. Now, having realized our loss this week, I realize I have missed all the great stuff he did after those first few albums. I may have to start to buy music again!
Back at the beginning of the year, Christine Vachon and I sat down with Alan Cumming, Jeff Lipsky, and Lee Daniels to talk with them about what it was like to sit in the director’s chair after being established in other roles within the industry.
