Long before I saw Nancy Sinatra, “These Boots Were Made For Walking” struck a chord with me (and that was long before QT reintroduced her to the fanboys). I have seen many of her performances available on line now, but this one resonates in a particularly unique way. Lee Hazelwood was a treasure.
This song and performance is so innocent, and so not. It’s is joyful, yet corrupt. It speaks of a time when fun could be other things. Ah, they just don’t make them like they used to…
If we could see the future from the past, would we see it all in Marianne’s beauty on this clip? It’s not just the song: I find this beautiful and sad and full of information despite it’s simplicity.

Having had my bike seat stolen (until I got a bike seat lock) and watched the sculptural change of many more unfortunate bikes over the years, this time lapse of one year in the life of a locked bike caught my fancy.
