The World Premiere Of Vanessa Hope’s First Film!

I am hoping the entire universe shows up for CHINA IN THREE WORDS at the Palm Springs International ShortFest on Saturday, June 22nd at 1030A for “This Just In“, a collection of six short films ripped from the world headlines of social change.  China, Japan, Korea, Syria, & the USA are all featured in the program.  The whole festival looks to be pretty amazing.  You better order your tickets now.

Not only did Vanessa direct and produce this short, but I had the pleasure of being the Executive Producer.  The short is part of Vanessa’s much larger storyworld project on the ramifications of the 40 years of US / China diplomacy.  If all financing comes through we have two features, this short, 30 online shorts, and hopefully an interactive web-based collaborative community.  Whew.

I will also be in Palm Springs for a panel I will be participating in, “Taking Your Content To Market” on Friday the 21st at 11A.  That has a great group of participants so I think it too is “Don’t Miss”.  Check out my illustrious fellow panelists:

SHARON BADAL, Tribeca Film
MICHAEL FALTER, Pickford Cinemas/Sundance Arthouse Convergence
JONATHAN MARLOW, Fandor/Telluride Film Festival
SCOTT DWYER, KQED – Imagemakers/Film School Shorts
DERRY O’BRIEN, Network Ireland Television
CHRIS HORTON, Sundance,#Artist Services
